My partner has recently become interested in trying to find out who his spirit guide is. And wants me to help him, i have told him to relax and clear his mind and then try to meditate and ask for his spirit guide to be with him. He is however finding this very difficult. He is heavily in to martial arts and wonders if his spirit guide has something to do with that. Wondering if any one has any ideas to help him. x Thanks Gail x
SEVEN MEDITATION HELPS AND HINTS
~by Patricia Telesco, Your Book of Shadows: How to Write Your Own Magickal Spells. 1999. (pgs. 58-59.)
I know that I sometimes have trouble meditating. When you experience the figurative brick wall with personal meditations, here are some hints to keep in your Book of Shadows and refer back to for help.
1. Add aromatics. Dab on some essential oil (sandalwood is ideal), burn incense, or whatever. Key the chosen aroma to the goal or the meditation. Refer to [a] list of plant correspondences or spell components for ideas.
2. Darken the room. Bright light speaks to the conscious, logical self. Darkness or candle light helps release the intuitive, lunar nature.
3. Add quiet background music. This shouldn't be something that distracts you, but rather let it add another sensual cue to the equation. I find that instrumental music works best.
4. Practice, practice, practice. Since meditation is a discipline, most people won't get adept at it overnight. Our minds are used to thinking about many things at once; now you're asking it to focus on one subject and only that subject, so be patient with yourself and keep trying. Eventually you'll breach the barriers of an itchy foot and uncomfortable arms and simply find yourself where you need to be mentally.
5. Try each meditation more than once. The second time might prove more successful just from familiarity. Also, when using meditation for clarity and comprehension, each repetition reveals new insights!
6. Make notes of your successes and failures, then try to figure out what defined each. For example, a simple interruption could cause the failure of a meditation one day, but in solitude the same meditation proves totally successful the next time. The ingredients that create a successful meditation once will likely do so again.
7. Transfer your most successful meditations into your Book of Shadows so you can use them again as needed, or adapt them to other curcumstances.
*Note: All of these extra dimensions help with spellcraft, divination, rituals, etc. They are effective aids to nearly any metaphysical procedure you undertake.
Blessings! I guess I almost answered my own questions! lol.

hi to you all. Can everyone sugest some books that I can read to learn more about crystals. What types there are, what they are used for, and what energies they posess??? I would be greatful for any information you can provide for the novice learner like myself.
Sorry, I didn't see this until just now! I only suggest Scott Cunningham's book because I am familiar with his work, and all his books are good references for beginners. There are probably others out there, but in dealing with crystals, I do not know, others may have more good suggestions!
Happy shopping!
