Natures Magic Everything Mystical

natures magic everything mystical

This question has always troubled Lightworkers. It would be interesting to know your views.

Do you feel your time and knowledge is valued if your client does not repay you in some form ? or maybe your client has not valued what they have received.

Do you feel guilty if you ask for payment?

I feel that Lightworkers should be valued and paid for time and energies, at the same token I don't feel that a healer should charge an enormous amount of money for helping and supporting another being in their well being.
I do healing, mostly families, at times used to be my work colleagues and I did not take money for payment in exchanging energies. But what I found is that most people that you are doing a healing ,usually pay you in kind, such as a gift which is useful in the trade of healing. I must say I do feel guilty about taking payment, but I do appreciate feed back from the people that I have done healing on, and at that point I don't feel that money comes into it.
I feel it is a given gift that should be given to those that are in need. I feel valued when people recommend me to others and do not take my valued times or healing energies for granted. People will always repay a kindness by their own means because you have given them your time and they don't feel obliged to part with a large sums of money which I find put some people off going to a healer.
I know everyone has their own opinions on this, I am not judging others , I am basing this subject on my thoughts
about the question asked.
Thank you.

I could not have put it in better words. I was only attuned to Usui Reiki 1 so I only practiced on myself and members of my family. I would not have felt comfortable taking money from anybody but I agree with you that gratitude and a small gift goes a long way. The feeling of being able of help another whether on a physical or emotional level does not compare with anything else. Having said that, it depends on what kind of level you wish to work. If you mean to do it full-time and leave your job well obviously you have to make a living!
My husband has an Acupuncture Clinic and although his is a skill and not a gift from God, he is still a Healer and has helped many people. He has to charge in order to pay the rent etc. We live in a material world and we have to play by the rules.

I think that charging a client, as long as it is within a reasonable amount, is fine. I want to get into doing light/energy work for a living ( right now I do friends and family as I have just started to trust my abilities more). I think that if I give it away all the time then I may feel like my energy is being "used". I intend on only charging what I need to "get by" and for those that are unable to pay, desperate for help, very ill, children and elderly I would not charge. I would leave it to them to "pay" me however they felt they comfortably could (a gesture, referral, home cooked meal, sharing their knowledge and wisdom, etc.). I am ultimately in this field of work to help others so it wouldn't be right to take advantage of someone when they are ill or not able to afford anything. They still deserve the same care and consideration as someone that has money.
I just feel like, for those of us that really have no other interests in the normal working world, we need to make our living somehow but not at the expense of others that are already struggling.
I live in the U.S. and in an area where there is a lot of alternative therapies and supplements going around. I see people getting charged an arm and a leg for light work and massage therapy and cannot believe that they are in business. The one energy worker that I had do work on me (we traded my hypnotherapy for her energy work ) charges $100 for 20 minutes. I thought to myslef that either she is very good or she is a crock. She was only so-so for me and I was so grateful that I didn't have to actually pay that day because I honestly would never be able to afford such services and would have been disappointed by the results for the amount of money she charges.
The psychic's around here are outrageous as well and it really bothers me because people are just searching for help and healing and are being taken advantage of.
I only plan on charging $35 for the hour or however long it would take for me to do the work that day ( I sometimes go for a long while depending on how much energy I am feeling needs to be moved or corrected). For those that cannot afford it or for the ones that are ill I would not charge and trust that the universe will provide for me in return for my kindness.
I don't feel like my time and knowledge are valued if the client doesn't repay me with a "thank you". My SIL didn't say anything after I worked on her and 2 days later went to a chiropractor that did the say type of work. She trusted his abilities more than mine and wouldn't even acknowledge the "impressions" I gave her while I was working. Those impressions were verified through his X-rays and testings. That was a disappointment to me that she couldn't even acknowledge that my comments to her regarding her health were verified 2 days later and were undeniable. That is when I don't feel appreciated as a lightworker, when a person does not show some sort of appreciation for my time and the heart I put into it. It's NOT about the money.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on this subject.

It has been one of the issues I have had problems with for some time now. At the beginning I offered healing for donation only, this was to cover the costs of taking the children out of my home while clients had peace and quite, but as I was only receiving sometimes as little as £3.00 for 1 1/2 hours of my time, it was starting to cost me money instead. Plus I found that some people felt that I SHOULD give my time freely, I even felt that they would take my energy as if it was their right to do so. At the same time, looking at it from another angle, I received from the Universe in other ways. For example I offered to do a healing on a client who was unable to pay me, (she paid me later by making me something so I knew she valued my time and efforts) and then on the same day, I received a phone call from the mechanic who was fitting my car with two new tyres, he informed me that as he was running behind in his work, he was unable to have my car ready as promised, so he give me a discount which just so happened to be the amount I normally charge.

The way I now look at it, if a client respects and values your time and healing therefore wants to be healed, then he/she will be willing to give you something of value back, as everyone is indebted , both giver and receiver.
I do not charge my family for healing; their love is more than enough plus we always do something for each other. It is the same for those who are terminally ill.

Something else to think about………if you have a God given talent, (we all have something) be it a talented artist, musician, a teacher even. Would you not expect payment in some form for your efforts and time, as again, they are receiving something in return. Just a thought xxx

Payment should only be asked for your TIME not the healing itself. There is a precept in Rieki that the healing should be an exchange of energy. Whether the energy is equal time, a ride to the store, helping to cook a meal or, yes even money the exchange should be equally valued by both parties.

Just my opinion Storm

You should charge for your time. However, if someone is unable to pay, and they really need the healing, they should offer you something else in return.

I believe in the principle that a person only gets out of something what they put into it. I sometimes offer free healing or attunements, to those near and dear to me or those who share knowledge and are pathworking for higher good. Those who appreciate and value gifts given and shared, will offer something in exchange if money is not involved, if they don't... do you really think they are getting anything out of the service offered to them other than flattering their ego? This really is a catch 22 scenario, and I believe each circumstance has to be looked at individually. If healing is your only means of livelihood, then payment is expected and a given. However, you have to go back to the core and ask yourself why do you want to heal? Do you want to do it for financial gain? Because of a desire to help those in need? Is it because of your unconditional love of humanity? Is it because you are one of the few who has this particular knowledge and feel you should be paid for this knowledge? There is no right or wrong answer.

In all honesty, I would love to be paid for the healing I do, but people can't always afford it or have other needs to take care of first especially in these hard economic times. I always ask should I charge or should I share and wait for the reply from my higher self. I say do what your heart and soul tells you, it is never wrong.

Blessings,
Belinda

As a Practioner of several modalities, I had the same question arise time & again throughout the years and what I would like to share with you is, to look into your heart. I asked myself, what is the reason I was guided to do ......(fill in the space) work? It was because of my souls desire and passion to "be of service" to humanity. Now, since we haven't learned the trick to instant manifestation, and we all need something to support our living circumstances, it is such a great reward, when you "ask" > what can you afford?
You see, there is always an exchange of energy going on, weather it is money orientated or not. I in fact have now to this day stopped "charging", because it is a "GIFT" that we share. I am soley set up on a barter system. Just because someone can't afford a treatment at the time of the appointment, does that say to you that they shouldn't receive just the same. It turns out more times than not, that at the end of the day, sure, you don't have that extra for whatever your needs are to be met, but how does your HEART feel?
Let's say that they are flat broke...ask them "what it is that they are willing to share with you for the time/energy/service in exchange.">>Suggestion: that you get this out of the way before starting, so the communcation channels are open on both sides.
(smiles) To this day I still have a beautiful piece of art made on wood on my wall to remind me about being humble that was an exchange for some looooooooong time therapy. But that's all they had and I am content!!!
***Ask yourself ~ what is your thoughts/values/habits around the subject of MONEY!. Are you deserving??? Of course you are dear one. Soooooo>>>> EXPAND~EXPAND~EXPAND that vision of receiving all the finances that you need. The Universe is ABUNDANT.. Blessings Upon You.
