Nourishing Herbal Infusions

Witches Herbal Chant
'Herb and root seed and flower, bring to me your ancient power.
Growing deep from moon to moon, mother hear my ancient tune.
A pinch of this, a pinch of that, make magic in my witchs vat.'
by Barbara Morris

Understanding American Measures -:
1 Quart= 2pts or 32 fluid oz
1 cup liquid = 1/2pint or 16 tablespoons
1/2 cup dry = 4oz.

REMEMBER EVERYONE .............If you have ultra sensative skin and you are applying herbal washes or oils, then just try a patch test first. With any herbal remedy, if you are on any medication, pregnant or breastfeeding, then you need to get in touch with a qualifide herbalist first before eating, drinking or absorbing through your skin. Its basic commen sense really. If not sure...........don't use.

Hi Debbie, milky oats are the tops of the herb oatstraw, when these oat tops are made into an infusion the tops release a sweet milky substance, its really good. For you nervous system and your endocrine susyem. Susan Weed in her book "Healing Wise" recommends you use 1oz. of dried herb, thats what i do. Oh, its good for your heart also. Hope this helps, take care.

Hi Marie, By infusing the herbs for such a long time, it allows more of the vitamins and minerals to absorb into the water. Therefore creating a more potent tea. After you have strained your prepared tea in another sterilised glass jar, you can then add some to a cup and warm it up. I also use dried herb rather than fresh herbs to drink, but I use fresh herbs for oil infusions. Infact I am in the process of making a Rosemary Oil infusion combined with an Amethyst crystal, I will then make this into an Ointment for my hubby's sore muscles.

I am a fan of nettle tea already as it has stopped my migraines but I did not know that you had to leave it for 4 hours or is it because the leaves are fresh as opposed to dry as in the nettle teabags I buy?

Hi Kat, yes you will need to strain it at the stated time.
Have a look at one of her pages as this gives you more info. xxx
