My hols in Greece

Well i finally can get this up!
We left on may 30th at 6am and landed on the Greek Isle of Zakynthos at 12pm local time. And it was HOT HOT HOT!

Here's my hubby and my baby girl after we landed!

Our apartment was in the town of Kalamaki, we could actually see the runway from our apartments and we were five minutes from the gorgeous beach of Laganas, which is home to the loggerhead turtle, which is an endangered species.

Our first day was mostly getting settled in and hanging around the pool, but it was so nice to have no housework to do! We went to dinner in a gorgeous restaurant called Heavens Kitchen, the food was superb, i had a traditional greek pasta dish which was delicious.

On our second day we explored the town a bit, and found this gorgeous house, if you look closely you will see a smaller building in front......its a dog house!

We then went to the beach, now there were alot of rules to follow on the beach as it was a nesting ground for the turtles, so we couldnt go in any further than 12 metres from the waterline ( this was because, the turtles came onto the beach after sunset, the beach closed at seven, and if we went further than the 12 metres the water wouldnt wash away our scent and the turtles could possibly abandon there nests) Their were volunteers from the National Wildlife Park of Zakynthos ( NWPZ) and they were very dedicated and probably couldnt wait for me to go home as i kept asking them questions!

We were told we wouldnt spot any turtles on our peddle boat but we saw two, thye were huge, bigger than me i would say and totally magnificent! Unfortunately i wasnt quick enough to get pictures!
We spent the rest of the day collecting shells and paddling, you could go about 200m from the shore before the water even reached your shoulders!

We spent the next day in our complex, as it had the pool and a playground for skye!

That night we went to the local BBQ, which was really fun and Skye, who loves to dance, won the hearts of every person there, as she kept dancing and running around waving hi to people!

And at the end of the night we came across our first gecko! We must have sen hundreds by the end of the hols!

We went to a brilliant Karaoke bar one night and my hubby made a friend!

These next pics are from our trip to the keri caves and turtle island, where we were guaranteed to see turtle........but we didnt!
Keep an eye out for how clear the water is!

We are actually inside a huge cave here which is why its so dark!

Now my camera broke after this trip as i got water in it, but my mother-in-law is going to give me some of hers so i will post them as soon as i have them.
But we went on a few more boat trips and we visited the capital of Zakynthos, Zante Town and we went into the Cathedral there, i was wearing a mini skirt and this tiny greek man came running after me with a apron to cover my legs! They were having mass at the time, which they sang! the entire mass! They also have the body of St. Dionysus in the church but we didnt see it as mass was on (thankfully).
And we got some beautiful gifts for everyone, i found musical instruments made from wood for skye, and i got loads of crystals and shells. And i got a throwing Star for the hubby!

We had a truly amazing time and i would recommend that if you can get to Zakynthos, you should!

ooh wow................ what a fab time you have had xxx it sounds amazing. Skye is such a cute little girl. How she cope with the heat?

She was actually alright, she was a little off for the first day or two but after that was just fine.
